Natural honey and its path at Honigmayr
From honey vat to honey jar
Just like in a beehive, there is a regular hustle and bustle in the honey manufactory in Tenneck. Around 30 employees ensure that only the best quality honey is bottled in our honey jars and containers during production. Everything begins in our honey raw material warehouse, accommodating 3,000-4,000 tons of honey in vats yearly. That is roughly 100 tons of honey a week which will, in turn, be processed into the finest quality honey at Honigmayr.
We give the honey the time it needs
After being stored in the raw material warehouse, the process moves to the heating chamber where the crystallised honey becomes liquefied. Afterwards, all the honey vats are emptied together into a larger honey tank. Here, the Honigmayr honey is slowly tempered for about 24 hours to allow the remaining crystals to dissolve. Finally, our honey undergoes a cleaning process in which it is sieved through our so-called “clear tubs” allowing all the air bubbles within the honey to come up and get skimmed from the surface.

The result of our honey processing is exquisite Honigmayr natural honey of the highest quality—and only then does it go on to packaging, which, by the way, is done by hand! Honigmayr honey specialties are bottled right here in our honey jars and containers. And before long, it’s ready for your enjoyment.

The meticulous quality checks at Honigmayr manufacturing promptly begins at the honey’s arrival where multiple samples are taken and precisely controlled. This takes place in external labs as well as those found at Honigmayr, where the quality of honey is continuously tested during the whole production process up until it’s bottled or jarred.
We know every path our honey takes
Our honey is further processed only after a clear confirmation from general management, the laboratory, quality management and sales. Every honey container is equipped with its own tracing barcode so that it can easily be monitored, show where it’s coming from, and when it’s delivery time is to be expected. Even if Honigmayr honey is already packaged, samples are taken at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of every production and subjected to testing to ensure the highest quality, making sure that only the best honey lands on your bread in the morning
